Bruns Barn
Built: 1873
Location: Foothill Rd
Photos Taken: May 4, 2024
Frederick Bruns bought the ranch with the barn in 1873. It has been in the Bruns family since that date. The barn is 70’ long by 60’ wide. The barn was built with lumber cut on the ranch at a sawmill located at the mouth of Fredericksburg Canyon and used peg and mortise construction. Teamsters from Carson City and Carson Valley, hauling freight to the mines above Markleeville, stopped here overnight.
